YMCA Camp Manitou-Lin Celebrates New Welcome Center with Ribbon Cutting Ceremony

Grand Rapids, MI (May 26, 2015) – On Wednesday, May 27 at 10:30 am, YMCA Camp Manitou-Lin will celebrate the opening of a brand new Welcome Center with a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony.

Just in time for summer camp, the new Welcome Center will be the first point of contact for campers, guests, and parents at YMCA Camp Manitou-Lin. Featuring an outdoor fireplace, centralized staff offices, and a visitor’s area, the Welcome Center, which is connected to the Cheff Lodge, will enhance the camper experience by providing a central location foWelcome Center YMCA Camp Manitou-Linr families and guests to drop-off and pick-up campers.

As part of the 100th Anniversary Capital Campaign, friends, alumni, board and donors stepped forward to ensure the next 100 years will be as successful as the first. The new Welcome Center is the first part of the project that will also include cabin renovations and a new nature center.

“The vision and leadership of our Y Camp Capital Campaign Co-Chairs, Stan Cheff and Fred Keller inspired others to help grow our facilities and programs to serve children and families for the next generation,” said Ron Nelson, President & CEO of the YMCA of Greater Grand Rapids.
